Fred has a knack for seeing a business through the eyes of a client but also uses his own experience when counseling them on their IP interests.
He strives to connect with clients on a personal and professional level, offering continuous communication to clients when necessary to explain the why, the how and the next steps in protecting and enhancing their intellectual property, including patents, trademarks and copyrights.
Fred is involved in all phases of patent prosecution, including appeals and international applications, and handles multiple aspects of securing, defending and enforcing trademarks, including U.S. and international applications, oppositions and cancellations. He also has experience in corporate transactions involving intellectual property, including drafting and negotiating license agreements and technology development agreements. In addition, Fred assists clients with e-commerce and computer-related business transactions, such as website development and hosting agreements, domain name transfers, software licenses and development agreements.
Fred focuses his practice on clients related to manufacturing and technology, an interest that began after he earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He has represented clients from engineering, manufacturing and packaging firms.
