Husch Blackwell prevailed in the District Court of the 14th Judicial District, Dallas County, Texas, on behalf of Beard Process Solutions, Inc. in connection with litigation against Brandt Industrial LLC and the Brandt Companies, LLC stemming from work performed by Beard at a Malta, New York silicon wafer manufacturing plant owned by Global Foundries, Inc., the largest such facility in the U.S.
A jury found that Beard performed compensable work for Brandt for which Beard was not paid and awarded Beard over $6.2 million. The judgment is subject to post-verdict motions for interest and attorneys’ fees that could increase the judgment against Brandt to more than $8 million.
Beard Process Solutions, Inc. is a private, Texas-based construction company owned by Texas Capitalization Resources Group, Inc., an investment holding company.
