Wentzville Logistics Center, a 1.3 million-square-foot facility located on 132 acres in suburban St. Louis, was selected by the St. Louis Business Journal for recognition in its inaugural Building St. Louis Awards series. The awards celebrate commercial real estate projects “that have created a positive community impact in the areas of investment, jobs created or potential benefit to a surrounding area.” Wentzville Logistics Center was recognized in the “Public/Private Project” category with deal values exceeding $10 million.

Husch Blackwell represented Kansas City-based NorthPoint Development, LLC in bringing the project to a successful close, assisting the client with acquisition, subdivision, rezoning and financing of the project, including the negotiation and adoption of real property tax abatement from the City of Wentzville, a St. Charles County Road Grant and creation of a transportation development district to assist with the financing and construction of related public improvements. The facility, one of the largest buildings of its kind in the U.S., will house operations supporting the nearby General Motors plant. NorthPoint partnered with local government authorities on the $45 million development project, including those from the City of Wentzville and St. Charles County.

The Husch Blackwell team was led by partner Ernesto Segura. Segura was recently named by Missouri Lawyers Weekly among its 2017 ‘Up and Coming’ lawyers.

NorthPoint and its private partners were recognized at an awards reception held at the Caramel Room at Bissinger’s on September 19.
