Law students in Husch Blackwell’s nationally-ranked summer associate program receive a stimulating, real-world experience to help prepare for the responsibilities of life as practicing lawyers. This means working alongside our partners and associates, contributing to trials and participating in the structuring and negotiation of business transactions, as well as client conferences. You will also be able to attend professional development training opportunities throughout the summer.
Open communication.
You will have the opportunity to work with a Summer Program Coordinator to manage your work projects and provide informal feedback and guidance throughout the summer. As a Summer Associate, you will also receive formal reviews and regular constructive feedback directly from the lawyers with whom you work.
Fostering growth.
Each Summer Associate is paired with a mentor who provides guidance, advice and training throughout the summer. This mentoring relationship helps you take full advantage of your summer experience and prepares you for a successful legal career.
The social side.
There is more to the Summer Associate Program than just work. You will have the opportunity to participate in specific industry and practice group events and small group meetings with our attorneys. Several social activities are planned throughout the summer, including a firmwide event in which all of our Summer Associates gather to meet, learn more about our firm and have fun.
Career longevity.
Husch Blackwell’s Summer Associate Program can be the beginning of a long-tenured career with Husch Blackwell. Chris Erblich, Partner and Private Wealth attorney in our Phoenix office, shares his Summer Associate Program experience and why he is still with Husch Blackwell - decades later.
You can find out more about our Summer Associate Program by submitting your resume and cover letter through our online application process, or registering for an on-campus or job fair interview.
