Situation
As part of their physician integration efforts, a hospital system and multiple physician groups wanted to acquire and consolidate surgery centers in a geographic area that had too many.
Result
Our team represented the physician groups in the consolidation, which also included a new private offering of equity to other physicians in the community who previously did not have equity in any of the surgery centers. The successful transaction resulted in higher reimbursement, better utilization and higher profitability.
