American Bar Association Names Husch Blackwell as Free Legal Answers Leader for Sixth Consecutive Year

The ABA Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service has recognized Husch Blackwell as a 2023 American Bar Association Free Legal Answers Pro Bono Leader, the sixth consecutive year the firm has earned this recognition.

Each year, the committee recognizes individual attorneys, law firms, and law departments that have provided extraordinary pro bono services through ABA Free Legal Answers. In 2023, Husch Blackwell attorneys answered 821 civil legal questions, helping ensure that low-income individuals receive needed legal assistance. Associate Ayissa Maldonado of Austin, Texas, and Yasmin Stiggons and Alissa Watson of Chattanooga, Tennessee, also received individual ABA Free Legal Answers Pro Bono Leader recognition for the volume of questions they answered in 2023.

“Free Legal Answers is an accessible way for our attorneys to be a resource to those in need at any time of the day,” said Margaret Richards, Husch Blackwell’s Director of Pro Bono Services.

In 2023, 690 Husch Blackwell attorneys & business professionals across the firm participated in performing 26,960 total hours of pro bono legal assistance, providing access to legal services to 464 organizations and 414 individuals.
