Carlos Rodriguez Honored as ‘Captain of Industry'

The New York/New Jersey Foreign Freight Forwarders & Brokers Association award honors those “who have given generously of their knowledge, time, and commitment to the association over the years.”

Husch Blackwell partner Carlos Rodriguez was recognized by the New York New Jersey Foreign Freight Forwarders and Brokers Association with its fourth annual “Captain of Industry” Award. The award honors individuals “who have given generously of their knowledge, time, and commitment to the association over the years.”

Rodriguez has served as Transportation Counsel to the association since 1990 and has continuously provided his legal expertise, representation, and information related to ocean and surface transportation matters.

Based in Washington, D.C., Rodriguez counsels clients regarding regulation and compliance matters administered by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and other governing bodies. He frequently advises on regulatory licensing issues, including assisting clients in licensing, registration and voluntary disclosures when required. He works with the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) on sanctioned country issues and routinely handles complex informal and formal litigation, including rulemaking matters before the Federal Maritime Commission. Rodriguez also structures agreements to establish off-shore distribution hubs for international distribution activities for retailers and multi-national logistics companies. He is also involved in establishing off-shore and domestic fulfillment facilities for B2C distribution for e-commerce transactions.
