Husch Blackwell’s renewable energy team assisted Arevon Energy in the closing of a $500 million financing package for the 430 MW Kelso 1 & 2 Solar Projects located in Southeastern Missouri.
Husch Blackwell served as project development and local counsel to Arevon through the development and debt financing of the Kelso 1 & 2 Solar Projects, which are Arevon’s first utility-scale renewable energy projects in Missouri.
The Kelso 1 & 2 Solar Projects’ financial close includes a $245 million bridge loan, a $174 million construction loan, and $81 million of credit support. Kelso Solar will generate a host of economic benefits in Scott County, Missouri and surrounding areas including the creation of an estimated 450 jobs during peak construction to build the project. When operational, Kelso Solar will disburse more than $34 million to local governments over its multi-decade lifespan, which will support schools, infrastructure, and vital services.
The Husch Blackwell team was led by senior associates Kirsten Large and Leah Kaiser, and included attorneys Riley Nickel, Michael Blackwell, Jordan Farrell, Jon Micah Goeller, Robert Romashko and paralegal Tina Chamblee. Anna Kimbrell served as the supervising partner.
