Husch Blackwell earns recognition for significant pro bono contributions to CLC projects throughout the year.

The Colorado Lawyers Committee (CLC) has named Husch Blackwell as the 2018 Law Firm of the Year for the firm’s support of multiple pro bono endeavors throughout the previous year.

During 2017, 35 Husch Blackwell attorneys—nearly two-thirds of the firm’s Denver office—contributed nearly 600 pro bono hours to a total of seven CLC projects, including Denver Legal Night, the Nonprofit Legal Audit Clinics, the Nonprofit Working Group, the Education Task Force, and the Hate Crimes Education Task Force, among other projects.

The CLC Law Firm of the Year award recognizes firms whose attorneys and staff have made significant pro bono contributions to CLC projects throughout the year.

“The Colorado Lawyers Committee supports a rich and rewarding variety of pro bono and public policy activities,” said Julie Sullivan, Husch Blackwell’s partner in charge of pro bono work in its Denver office and a member of CLC’s Board of Directors. “I am proud that so many of my colleagues have contributed to the programs CLC has developed, and we are honored to be recognized as Law Firm of the Year.”

Founded in 1978, CLC is a consortium of 75 Colorado law firms dedicated to creating and increasing opportunities for children, the poor and other disadvantaged communities through advocacy, negotiation and litigation. This past year, 750 volunteers donated more than 7,000 hours to CLC projects. CLC is affiliated with the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law in Washington D.C. and similar organizations in seven other cities throughout the country.

Husch Blackwell’s Denver office was established in 2008 and is currently among the top 20 largest law offices in the Denver metropolitan area, according to the Denver Business Journal.
