Husch Blackwell is pleased to announce its hosting of and participation in a reception benefiting the College Promise Campaign. College Promise is a national, non-partisan initiative to build broad public support for funding the first two years of higher education for hard-working students starting in community colleges. The event will take place on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Husch Blackwell’s Chicago office at 120 South Riverside Drive and will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Former Husch Blackwell chairman Maurice Watson will moderate a panel with Arne Duncan and Dr. Martha Kanter on challenges facing students and strategies for supporting them as they prepare for and enter their first two years of higher education.

Duncan served as Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education under President Barack Obama from 2009-15. Kanter served with him from 2009-13 at the Department as the Under Secretary of Education. Currently, she is the Executive Director of the College Promise Campaign.
