National law firm Husch Blackwell welcomed 99 summer associates to its offices today. This year’s class comprises students from 48 law schools and features a diverse and talented group, including a published author, a company founder, a Fulbright Scholar, a U.S. national team synchronized figure skater, a former political consultant, and Future Farmers of America national champion.
“This talented group had countless opportunities for their summer experience, and we are thrilled to welcome our new summer associates to the firm,” said Jamie Lawless, Husch Blackwell’s Chief Executive. “As a firm, we are steadfast in our commitment to attracting talented lawyers and business professionals and providing them with unique opportunities for career success.”
The firm’s summer program runs for 10 weeks—from May to July—providing summer associates with valuable tangible experience to prepare them for the responsibilities of practicing law. In line with Husch Blackwell’s emphasis on teamwork and collaboration, each summer associate is paired with a mentor who fosters internal relationships, identifies development prospects, and acts as their advocate.
“Building strong teamwork and collaboration skills is a cornerstone of our summer program, and we provide ample opportunities for our summer associates to forge meaningful connections across the firm’s footprint,” said Dean Boeschen, Husch Blackwell’s Chief Growth Officer.
Husch Blackwell ranked among the top 10 law firms in the United States among the 2022 class of summer associates, according to data published by Law360 Pulse. Overall, the firm ranked ninth in the second and final installment for 2022 of the Law360 Pulse Summer Associates Survey and was among “the vanguard in the critical areas the questions sought to cover: confidence-building, networking and mentorship, compensation and fun programming.”
