The Renewable Energy team of Husch Blackwell’s Energy & Natural Resources business unit wrapped up an impressive quarter of growth, adding a total of seven new attorneys since January 1, 2021. This expansion represents a 20 percent increase in the sector since the beginning of the year.

The team also enjoyed another busy quarter, representing numerous clients in a variety of regulatory and energy hedge issues related to the Texas ice storm and resulting power outages, counseling a New York based fund manager with the acquisition of portfolios of solar projects in New York, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Utah, representing the sponsors with respect to the funding of tax equity investments of wind projects in Missouri and Illinois and a portfolio of solar projects in New York, and representing the seller of a 200MW solar project in Taiwan, together with other projects having a combined value of over $2 billion.

“As the market for renewable energy continues to grow, we have worked hard to identify, recruit and hire outstanding practitioners to enhance our bench strength,” said John Crossley, the head of Husch Blackwell’s Renewable Energy practice. “Our clients have signaled a desire to expand their presence in the renewable energy industry, and we are well positioned to assist on all aspects of these deals and developments, from transactions and financings to real estate and regulatory law.”
