“Jill’s arrival further demonstrates our firm’s commitment to growing this practice with high-quality practitioners who share our client-service ethic,” said Eric Ess, the head of Husch Blackwell’s Private Wealth practice group.

Husch Blackwell is pleased to announce that Jill Palmquist has joined the firm as partner in its St. Louis office. A noted trusts and estates lawyer, Palmquist is a member of the firm’s Financial Services & Capital Markets industry team and its Private Wealth practice group.

Palmquist chiefly represents individuals and families in developing and using estate planning tools to preserve and transfer wealth. She guides clients through the entire estate planning process in a comprehensive manner, handling wills, revocable trusts, and irrevocable trusts, and has deep experience in helping clients understand how to structure business interests in the context of trusts and estates. She also has experience in dealing with special assets including closely held stock, 401(k) plans, and traditional and ROTH IRAs.

When the time comes to put estate plans into action, Palmquist works with clients to fully implement estate plans through all stages of plan administration, working closely with individual beneficiaries and individuals appointed as agents, personal representatives and successor trustees. She routinely assists clients in preparing estate, gift and fiduciary income tax returns, funding trusts created at death, making distributions to beneficiaries and opening probate proceedings.

“Our private wealth group has added significant depth in Missouri and across the country in the past year,” said Eric Ess, the head of Husch Blackwell’s Private Wealth practice group. “Jill’s arrival further demonstrates our firm’s commitment to growing this practice with high-quality practitioners who share our client-service ethic.”

Since 2016, Palmquist has been ranked among the top Trusts and Estates lawyers in the country by The Best Lawyers in America. She received her J.D. cum laude from Saint Louis University School of Law and her B.A. from the University of Dallas.
