Michael Blackwell Joins Husch Blackwell's Energy & Natural Resources Group

Husch Blackwell is pleased to welcome Michael Blackwell to its Energy & Natural Resources group. He is based in the firm’s The Link Virtual Office.

Blackwell joins Husch Blackwell from Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO), a Regional Transmission Organization that operates the power grid across 15 U.S. states and the Canadian province of Manitoba. Blackwell has experience advising on regulatory, financial, and transactional issues affecting the development and optimization of generation and transmission assets.

Carman, leader of Husch Blackwell’s Energy & Natural Resources team. “Our industry clients will find that he is well-equipped to advise on matters of state and federal utility regulation, and is highly knowledgeable on numerous aspects of power market design, transmission planning, and generator interconnection.”

Blackwell is a graduate of Indiana University, where he earned a B.A. in Economics with honors and a J.D. with concentration in Energy, Environmental, and Natural Resources Law. He now serves as an adjunct professor at Indiana University on topics in energy law.
