Austin attorney Dominic Castillo comes from a long line of military veterans that stretches back to his great-grandfather, and he served in the U.S. Air Force himself. In 2022, his passion for service led him to begin volunteering with the Veteran Legal Assistance Program (VLAP) through the Austin Bar Foundation.
VLAP hosts a monthly legal clinic for Austin-area veterans, where Dominic and other volunteer attorneys offer pro bono guidance on a variety of legal issues. “I’m in a solutions-based profession,” he says, “and being able to find answers for people is something I love doing.”
