It has been less than three months since President Trump took office, and since then, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has been in flux—to put it mildly. As of this date, it is unclear whether the CFPB is a functioning agency. To make matters even more complicated, on Friday, March 28, Federal District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson wrote an opinion detailing the new leadership’s attempts to unwind the agency and enjoining them from doing so.
In this webinar, we will summarize the unusual series of recent events, analyze the current state of play, forecast how the CFPB will emerge out of the transition, and discuss how this uncertainty affects compliance obligations.
