Webinar

Join Husch Blackwell education attorneys and a representative from the Council of the Great City Schools (CGCS) as they delve into the intersection of religious freedom and accommodations for students and employees, including in the charter school context. We will discuss the recent federal court decisions involving religious discrimination claims under the First Amendment, Title VII, and state law. Specific topics will include the right of public employees to engage in demonstrative religious expression, and the ability of school districts to require employees to refer to students by their preferred pronouns.

The webinar will review the jurisprudence associated with the Free Speech, Free Exercise, and Establishment Clauses; summarize recent legal developments; and use scenarios from recent cases to facilitate discussion on the possible effect of the decisions on public school districts.
