Emily Lyons will present "Intentional Adulteration Rule Compliance: Is Your Plant Ready?" at the International Dairy Foods Association’s Regulatory RoundUp on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 in Washington, DC.
The Food Safety Modernization Act introduced a novel approach for protecting consumers from intentional adulteration. The Mitigation Strategies to Protect Food from Intentional Adulteration final rule is designed to counteract the possibility, however unlikely, that an act of intentional adulteration could affect the U.S. food supply and cause widespread public harm. With new draft guidance published on how to comply with the rule, attendees will hear directly from the FDA staff involved in writing the guidance to gain insights into FDA’s current thinking ahead of the pending July compliance date. Attendees will also hear from former IDFA expert Emily Lyons on key compliance issues facing dairy processors as the rule’s deadline approaches.
Presenters include:
- Emily Lyons, Attorney, Husch Blackwell
- Jon Woody, CAPT, USPHS, Director, Food Defense and Emergency Coordination Staff, Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN), U.S. Food and Drug Administration
