Andrew draws on extensive trial experience to provide exceptional representation to clients in complex commercial litigation.
With a diverse litigation practice encompassing a wide variety of industries, Andrew has comprehensive litigation experience, particularly in defending against personal injury claims. He has extensive experience representing insurance companies and insureds, national railroads, and agricultural and real estate clients, and he most often works with a national transportation client. Andrew successfully steers clients through trials in state and federal court and effectively advocates for clients at the appellate level.
After beginning his career as a rural attorney handling a diverse array of litigation, Andrew accepted a role as a public defender and found himself frequently in court. His time in criminal defense taught him how to achieve the best results possible for clients even when dealt a lousy hand, and he rapidly gained greater trial experience than many of his peers. Upon rejoining the private sector, Andrew represented a national railroad client that took an aggressive stance toward litigation, putting him in the courtroom again and again. Although not every case Andrew assists with today ends up in court, he knows the value of always being prepared to take a case to jury verdict.
Unique for a trial attorney, Andrew is well-known as a consensus builder. He aims to keep clients out of court when possible and effectively advocates for clients through settlement negotiations, as well as arbitration and mediation. When a trial is necessary, he has a natural tact for building trust with jurors. A central Nebraska native, Andrew’s common-sense, Midwestern approach means he relates well with jurors, who appreciate his direct nature and genuine credibility.
Andrew values a similar upfront approach with clients, offering an honest assessment of their legal risks. He is known for his clear explanations and for ensuring that clients fully understand the potential risks and benefits of any litigation strategy.
