Overview

Christina assists clients with labor and employment matters, representing them in disputes and helping them avoid legal difficulties.

Christina does regular deep dives into various employment issues during the initial stage of litigation, assisting clients with the research necessary to build their defenses. She routinely supports cases involving Title VII and allegations of discrimination, retaliation, and harassment, and she also has experience with state whistleblower protection laws, including the Missouri Whistleblower’s Protection Act and the New Jersey Conscientious Employee Protection Act. While Christina represents clients in a variety of industries, she primarily focuses on those in the food systems space.

Alongside her work in litigation, Christina also provides clients with preventative advice and counsel designed to help them stay out of court. She offers trainings for clients on sexual harassment prevention, new employment laws, and general compliance, and she has also assisted with severance agreements and reductions in force, unionizing campaigns and other traditional labor matters, and drug use and testing policies. Christina has developed a particular focus and solid body of knowledge regarding employer policies governing both recreational and medical use of marijuana by employees. She regularly drafts policies and advises clients in this area that keep employers in line with related disability discrimination laws and state lawful off-duty conduct restrictions.

First drawn to the labor and employment world by the passion of the Husch Blackwell L&E attorneys she encountered as a summer associate, Christina loves having the opportunity to work in a field that touches so many people’s lives. She values knowing that her counsel helps both employers and employees: she understands how deeply employees invest in their jobs, as well as what important investments employees are to their companies. Her aim is to help clients manage their most valuable asset, their staff, in the best interests of both parties.

Christina is an animal lover who’s happiest spoiling her two cats and young German Shepherd: while still technically a puppy, Christina’s dog is already very, very large.

Christina also enjoys anything related to fitness, whether lifting weights, hiking or running. She loves to be outdoors, especially on a sunny day.
