Colleen focuses her practice on healthcare regulations.
Before attending law school, Colleen earned a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Texas Tech University. With family members in the healthcare industry, the practice area was a natural fit. Her father is a chief financial officer of a hospital, her sister is a surgical resident, her brother-in-law is a urology resident, and her brother is pursuing a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration. Colleen understands both the internal and external pressures that healthcare providers face, making her adept at handling legal matters in this domain.
At the University of Houston Law Center, Colleen dived deep into health law. She took classes like healthcare compliance, HIPAA, public health, and healthcare transactions. She also was involved in extracurricular activities centered around health law. For example, she was President of the Health Law Organization, and led a successful Health Law Week that provided educational and interactive events for students.
Internships with Baylor College of Medicine’s Office of Risk Management and United Regional Health Care System solidified her understanding that clients seek clear, concise communication and value-driven performance. These roles, combined with her time as a summer associate at Husch Blackwell, sharpened her skills in healthcare regulations, telemedicine, and federal administrative agencies.
Now a fully qualified attorney, Colleen focuses on healthcare regulatory counseling. Clients appreciate her detail-oriented approach, her affable nature, and her prowess in research and writing. Her positive attitude and commitment ensure that she is always striving for the best outcomes.
