Overview

Katie assists the firm with risk management and loss prevention.

After 15 years at law firms, Katie knows her way around the legal world. She has spent most of that time as a paralegal and has handled family law, private wealth, business succession and a wide variety of litigation matters. Katie understands the need for precise legal documentation and is extensively familiar with her true passion, the litigation process. She thrives on procedure and enjoys following the full progression of cases and legal arguments.

As the firm’s Risk Management Paralegal, Katie exclusively supports Husch Blackwell’s General Counsel, Associate General Counsels and Director of Risk Management. Much of her work focuses on collecting and preparing responses to audit letters from clients’ accounting firms—a straightforward task for someone who knows the litigation process as well as Katie does. She also assists with:

  • Preparation and review of business associate agreements
  • Researching and clearing aging trust accounts
  • Collections matters
  • Departing attorney risk management protocol
  • Management of the firm’s restricted client list
  • Subpoena response
  • File transfer reviews

A deeply methodical person, Katie is a detail-oriented professional whom clients can rely on to ensure audit needs are met and risk management protocols are followed. Known among clients and colleagues as hard-working and dependable, Katie is a valued team player who always gets the job done.
