Kellie brings nearly 20 years of experience in consumer financial services litigation to her defense of loan servicers, credit card companies, banks, and financial services companies.
Although she is most experienced with mortgage servicing, credit cards, and auto finance, Kellie has defended just about every type of consumer loan provider. She has handled litigation involving loans at all stages, from origination throughout the servicing period, and she has represented clients in state and federal courts throughout the country, including at trial and in cases carrying significant financial and reputational risks. Kellie’s experience includes both individual plaintiff and class action cases, and she has worked with a variety of consumer protection statutes, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), and New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act.
With a true gift for working with people, Kellie excels at collaboration and negotiation. In spite of litigation’s reputation as an aggressive field, Kellie knows that successful results rely on people skills, and she regards her work as a people-focused practice. She was drawn to consumer financial services for the same reason: each case has individuals at its heart. The practice area was also a perfect fit for a detail-oriented professional like Kellie—with many consumer protection statutes, application can turn on a single word, and Kellie digs deep into interpretation and precedent to develop favorable arguments for clients.
In addition to her strengths in court and in oral argument, Kellie is known for her practicality. A solutions-focused attorney, her goal is always to help clients determine and achieve practical answers that will fit their real-world needs.
