Libby works to protect the firm and its attorneys so that they can effectively serve clients.
As a member of Husch Blackwell’s Risk Management team, Libby advises on a wide array of matters, including NDAs and other legal contracts, attorney departures, professional insurance needs, attorney audit letter responses, and other unique legal issues that arise within a law firm. She regularly collaborates with the General Counsel’s office, working toward a shared goal of protecting the firm and its attorneys and ensuring that the proper policies, procedures, and insurance are in place. Libby and the Risk Management team always have an eye toward potential challenges and how they can best prevent problems.
Libby first began her legal career as a litigator, giving her a keen understanding of the pressures associated with the practice of law and the importance of meeting client needs timely. She later stepped away from law to operate her own business as a real estate appraiser, an experience that taught her the importance of building and maintaining relationships—as well as of attention to detail in all documentation. When she returned to the legal field, it was to Husch Blackwell’s Conflicts Counsel team. There, she advised firm attorneys on appropriate conflict resolution and in negotiating client agreements. She also served as a point of contact for new attorneys to the firm. She grew to love the professionalism and collaboration among teams within the firm, as well as her work supporting attorneys and clients. She moved to Risk Management in early 2025 with the aim of finding more ways to continue to serve the firm.
In her time at Husch Blackwell, one thing has always been clear: Libby has always been struck by how deeply the firm’s attorneys care about doing the right thing for clients.
