Overview

Mikah helps clients build their businesses and develop their communities through commercial real estate transactions.

Mikah had grown up hearing that she’d make a good attorney—and then she realized as a student that she genuinely would be good at it. Legal practice was a combination of reading, learning and researching, all of which she’d always been passionate about, as well as an opportunity to help others and serve as a resource.

After enrolling in law school, Mikah discovered quickly that her calling was transactional law. She was drawn to the idea of leaving both sides better off, and she loved the collaboration transactions fostered. Her time as a Husch Blackwell summer associate sparked an interest specific to real estate transactions: Mikah was struck by the concrete way that real estate developed communities, and she knew she would value playing a role in both Chattanooga and client communities further afield. Now a full associate at the firm, Mikah handles both commercial leasing and real property purchase and sale.

With a focus on client service, Mikah draws on the extensive direct client experience she gained very early in her career. As a law student, Mikah served as a clerk for the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee & the Cumberlands, where she worked one on one with clients to resolve tax matters. The experience showed her how much clients depend on sound legal advice and assistance from their attorney, and she learned how to ask the right questions to provide the best support. Clients value Mikah’s eye for detail, her interest in their business needs and her commitment to helping them reach their goals.

Outside the Office

Mikah loves running and completed her first marathon last year. She’s also recently gotten into plants and gardening: after completing the bar exam, she used her time before her Husch Blackwell start date to gather a selection of indoor plants and attempt to keep them alive. Her collection has now grown to more than 30, and so far, everything’s still living.
