Olivia keeps renewable energy projects on track for clients.
Olivia came to the practice of law out of a desire for a career where she could be continually learning and continually challenged. In her first legal role, she focused on tax credits, but she noticed that the most interesting part of each transaction for her wasn’t the tax credits themselves, but the real estate component. Olivia soon accepted an associate role on another firm’s real estate team for energy and infrastructure.
She quickly discovered a passion for renewable energy work and represented developers, investors, and lenders in renewable projects across the county. Olivia finds great excitement in supporting clients who are pioneers in the new and growing renewables field, and she thrives on the challenge of serving as a legal pioneer herself. Her experience includes drafting leases, purchase and sale agreements, easements, mortgages, option agreements, and shared facilities agreements; reviewing title and survey diligence for various development and financing stage projects, including large portfolios with 50+ landowners; and providing clients with insight and guidance on the real estate aspects of acquiring, developing, and financing large scale solar, wind, natural gas, and battery projects.
Enthusiastic about the idea of a firm with an entire practice group dedicated to renewable energy, Olivia joined Husch Blackwell in 2023. She currently focuses her practice on representation of developers of wind and solar projects. With clients who often have multiple projects in the pipeline at any given moment, Olivia particularly excels at helping clients stay on track and on top of deadlines. She ensures that each deal continues moving forward and that each new development gets across the finish line.
