Samantha’s passion for labor and employment law emerged during her legal studies, where she took every employment-related class available. Her interest is driven by the field’s universal relevance: everyone has experience as an employee, making it a field with challenges every business faces. She provides both preventative counsel and litigation defense and has a particular interest in the unique issues faced by educational institutions.
While in law school, Samantha also earned a concurrent Master in Sports Law and Business degree, which enriched her understanding of legal issues in the sports industry. Her journal note on the tax implications of charitable Name, Image, and Likeness collectives in college athletics highlights her ability to tackle nuanced legal topics.
As a summer associate at Husch Blackwell for two years, Samantha worked on a variety of projects, including advising religious nonprofit clients on employment issues, analyzing ADA issues in motions to dismiss, and assessing the impacts of significant Supreme Court decisions on educational institutions. Her hands-on experience also included working in-house with a Husch Blackwell client, providing her with a well-rounded perspective on client needs.
