Prior to his legal career, Samuel worked in the pharmaceutical and health-technology sectors. The experience exposed him to the strategic aspects of business, fueling his passion for helping businesses navigate complex challenges. This drive led him to pursue a legal degree to assist businesses in overcoming obstacles and maximizing opportunities.
During law school, Samuel was particularly drawn to transactional and securities classes. A formative experience was his externship with a biotech company in San Francisco, where he gained firsthand knowledge of the diverse legal matters businesses face. This solidified his desire to specialize in transactional and corporate law, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, securities, and corporate governance.
Samuel’s judicial clerkship at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit provided him with valuable insights into the importance of precise drafting and the interconnectedness of corporate law and litigation. His experience honed his ability to write concisely and persuasively and communicate complex legal ideas effectively.
Samuel especially enjoys working with startups, emerging companies, and venture capital and regularly draws on the strategic perspective he gained through his background in business and his experience in the biotech and health-tech industries.
