A conversation with Mhare Mouradian

Describe your career trajectory.

I always knew I wanted to be an attorney. I was drawn to advising businesses on legal issues because I came from an entrepreneurial household, even advocating for my family’s small businesses during college. As a college sophomore, I clerked for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in San Francisco. In law school, I clerked for the Public Defender’s Office in Stockton, California, and at a city attorney’s office in the Bay Area. I was also a finalist in the first-year law school mock trial competition.

Early in my legal career, I worked at outside litigation firms representing businesses in different types of disputes. My commercial litigation practice has developed into complex commercial matters including breach of contract, trademark, real estate, and employment. The clients I serve – in an array of legal issues beyond litigation – have grown to include companies in manufacturing, technology, entertainment, real estate, finance, and food and spirits.

Why did you choose to move your practice to Husch Blackwell?

I was looking for a full-service law firm with a strong bench of attorneys within a collaborative culture. I craved Husch Blackwell’s expansive corporate, real estate, employment, and intellectual property (IP) practices, which gave me a larger platform on which to build my own. With growing teams in Los Angeles and Oakland, combined with a deep-rooted culture of collaboration and teamwork, Husch Blackwell’s platform is truly unmatched and well-positioned to meet the needs of all clients we serve.

How does Husch Blackwell support your practice?

I grew up in Northern California during the first dot-com craze in the ‘90s and feel the entrepreneurial spirit here as well. The collaborative culture is immediately evident: It was easy to supercharge my practice by cross-marketing with the firm’s partners in other practice areas.

What recent achievement are you most proud of?

I obtained a unanimous 12-0 defense jury verdict after a six-week Zoom trial that found no liability for the client. The hands-on support from the attorneys and staff at Husch Blackwell who assisted me in trying this case are undoubtedly a big part of this career milestone.

What is one thing that makes Husch Blackwell special?

People. The culture of any business comes down to the people under the tent. The values and culture of our Midwestern roots permeate the firm. Husch Blackwell has created an environment in which lawyers can do their very best work for clients.
