Husch Blackwell is pleased to announce that Nicole Bashor has joined the firm as a partner in its Chicago office. Bashor is a noted patent attorney counseling clients across multiple industries, including consumer products, software, food and beverage, water treatment and purification, medical devices, aquaculture, filtration, chemical engineering, pumps, oil and gas, wax formulations, aerospace, nutritional supplements, and manufacturing. She will join Husch Blackwell’s Technology, Manufacturing and Transportation industry group.

Bashor provides strategic legal counsel at all stages of technology development—from research and product development through commercialization—and routinely manages and maintains large patent portfolios on an international basis with aggregate values of over $20 billion. She has experience in prosecuting, licensing, and providing pre-litigation and inter partes review strategy advice for patents and trademarks, both nationally and internationally. In addition to traditional patent law guidance, such as opinions concerning patent validity, infringement, and patentability, Bashor is an innovator in the area of design patent law and frequently protects clients’ technologies using creative design patent claiming strategies.

“Every client is different and requires a unique approach to intellectual property matters,” said Bashor. “But all clients want to know that their law firms’ values and interests are aligned with theirs. I chose to practice at Husch Blackwell because the firm’s commitment to client service and its deep industry-based experience are highly compatible with my approach. I look forward to helping the firm grow and prosper in Chicago and beyond.”

“Husch Blackwell has approximately 80 lawyers focused on intellectual property law, and within that larger group, we have teams with deep, industry-based knowledge,” said Joe Orlet, the leader of Husch Blackwell’s Technology, Manufacturing and Transportation industry group. “Nicole brings a wealth of knowledge across a number of our industry-focused niches and will be an excellent resource for our clients that operate in those areas.”
