Husch Blackwell partner Jeffrey Jensen was sworn in today as U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri. He was confirmed unanimously by the U.S. Senate on October 3 after being nominated to the post in July by President Donald Trump.
While at Husch Blackwell, the St. Louis-based Jensen counseled clients in connection with complex federal litigation, including internal compliance investigations and reviews and emergency response to government investigations. He also helped to launch the firm’s Government Solutions team, a group of lawyers and professionals who have experience working inside federal, state and local government agencies, the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Congress and state legislatures, and statehouses. The group is led by Catherine Hanaway, a former U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri and former speaker of the Missouri House of Representatives.
“The U.S. Attorney’s office will benefit greatly from Jeff’s leadership, integrity, and skill,” said Hanaway. “He is an exceptional lawyer whose unique experience in law enforcement and private practice is a perfect fit for the job at hand.”
Jensen graduated from the Saint Louis University School of Law, magna cum laude, and holds a B.S. in accounting from Indiana University. Prior to entering private practice, Jensen was a certified public accountant for PricewaterhouseCoopers. He then served as an FBI special agent in St. Louis for 10 years and as a federal prosecutor for another decade, leading prosecutions of securities and corporate fraud cases.
