Mindi Giftos discusses the growth of Blockchain technology at Milwaukee business event.

Mindi Giftos, co-leader of Husch Blackwell’s Internet of Things and Data Privacy, Security & Breach Response practice groups, discussed the emergence of blockchain technology at a panel discussion during the “Blockchain Technology 101” educational session sponsored by the Greater Milwaukee Committee today.

Blockchain, or distributed ledger technology, provides users with a method for recording and storing related data in an unalterable chronological record. With applications to currency (Bitcoin, among other cryptocurrencies), supply chain management, consumer transactions, and contracts, among other areas, blockchain is potentially the greatest ‘disruption’ for established industries since the advent of the Internet.

Giftos, a partner in Husch Blackwell’s Technology, Manufacturing and Transportation industry group, also serves as the managing partner for the firm’s Madison office.
