Abigail assists clients in the technology, manufacturing and transportation industries with patent applications, with a focus on chemical engineering and medical devices.
Abigail has always been curious to understand how the world and its technologies work: she had a reputation as a child for taking apart everything she could get her hands on, and as a student, she gravitated toward science and engineering courses. While she knew she didn’t desire a career in a laboratory, she wanted to work in a field where she would still be exposed to scientific advancements and innovations. A role as a patent agent was a perfect fit.
At Husch Blackwell, Abigail assists with patent prosecution, drafting patent applications, responding to office actions and guiding clients’ patent strategy. After working in-house at various engineering companies during her undergraduate years, she has an inside view of how important clients’ innovations are to their businesses.
Prior to joining the firm, Abigail served as a consultant for a supply chain software and consulting company, a role where she worked directly with clients in improving their business operations. The experience gave her a deep appreciation for what clients expect and seek in their interactions with outside service providers, and Abigail places a high priority on ensuring that clients’ questions are fully answered and that their needs are fully met. She also understands that good service depends on her knowledge of the client, and she takes care to ask the right questions to provide the most helpful guidance.
