Allison helps clients protect their innovations and technologies through patents.
Allison was an undergraduate engineering student when she first discovered patent law through a school seminar: here was a field where she could combine her interests in engineering and business and apply her engineering knowledge to the law. Fascinated by the thought of working with inventors and new technology, she immediately knew she would be enrolling in law school.
Allison began her career in patent drafting and patent prosecution for leading Fortune 50 companies, focusing on engine technologies, power generation systems and components, and aeronautical systems. She then took a position with a patent law firm where she worked primarily with small businesses and entrepreneurs, assisting with portfolio management, licensing, nondisclosure and confidentiality agreements, and patent and trade dress litigation in addition to patent prosecution. She also worked extensively with foreign patent prosecution. Allison found the deeply personal nature of her work truly rewarding: clients were often inventors, and she received an up close view of how essential patents were to clients’ business success.
At Husch Blackwell, Allison helps multinational clients manage large intellectual property portfolios worldwide. She most frequently supports clients with patent needs in the realm of mechanical engineering, and she regularly assists with patent drafting, prosecution and strategy. Her prior background in patent and trade dress litigation means that she sees the full picture of patent lifecycles and constructs IP strategies designed to prevent future challenges.
Known for her passion for clients’ technologies, Allison has a reputation for producing excellent results in an efficient, timely fashion.
