Hattie represents clients in toxic tort and other product liability litigation.
Hattie chose a legal career for a simple reason: she likes helping people, and she saw the law as an opportunity to help clients solve problems. While she originally expected to practice in the estate planning field, a summer associateship introduced her to litigation, and she quickly realized that she thrived on the collaboration and teamwork involved. Hattie has a gift for working with people—both on her own team and in negotiations with opposing counsel—and loves partnering with clients to resolve litigation in the most favorable way possible.
A member of the firm’s Mass Tort and Product Liability team, Hattie focuses much of her practice on mold litigation. She has extensive experience defending developers in matters involving allegations of mold exposure in military housing across the country, and she is well-versed in the multilayered nature of these cases, with their government contracts, mix of federal and state law, and historical complexity. In addition, Hattie also represents clients in traditional product liability matters.
Known for her research and discovery skills, her ability to build a solid case, and her command of evidence, Hattie always aims to make clients’ lives easier. With a reputation as a calming presence during the stress of litigation, she does everything possible to understand and allay clients’ concerns.
