With a long career as a litigator and over 10 years of experience in toxic tort, Ken defends clients in asbestos litigation in notoriously difficult venues.
Ken began his career with a variety of commercial litigation, media law, employment litigation (some ERISA litigation) and insurance defense matters before focusing on toxic tort cases. He’s passionate about the challenges of asbestos litigation, especially in the often plaintiff-friendly venues in Missouri and Illinois where he frequently handles cases.
Ken defends clients in both state and federal courts at both jury and bench trials, negotiating favorable settlements in the best interests of the client. He has extensive experience handling large dockets and high-volume clients, developing case strategy, and serving on national coordinating counsel teams, managing litigation across the country.
Ken aims to approach each matter with a fresh perspective. With decades of asbestos litigation history, novel arguments are rarely heard by judges and juries, and Ken makes a concerted effort to dig deeply into the facts and history of each case seeking a new approach or variation on what has come before. He aims to combine what worked in the past with promising new approaches in his defense of clients.
Alongside his gift for thinking outside the box, Ken is also known for high-quality, cost-effective representation. His goal is to understand a client’s true goal in litigation, and he offers clients an honest assessment of where a case is likely to go, providing them with advice on early resolution versus trial that’s truly in their best interests.
