Matthew has vast experience defending clients in both state and federal court in a myriad of areas including products liability, environmental litigation, maritime, wrongful death, personal injury, toxic tort and premises liability. He routinely serves as lead counsel at multi-defendant depositions, devises settlement strategies, and participates in all pretrial and trial proceedings, including jury selection.
Matthew’s pairs a thorough understanding of legal precedent with deep industry knowledge, including a variety of product types and classes such as industrial and maritime power generating equipment, heating and cooling systems, industrial pumping machinery, home renovation products, and automotive parts. His defense work has included litigation before the federal MDL panel in the Eastern District of PA, and within the New York City Asbestos Litigation case management structure.
Prior to entering private practice, Matthew served for three years as an assistant district attorney in the Nassau County District Attorney’s office, where he prosecuted defendants for misdemeanors and felonies and served as lead counsel in several jury trials.
