Overview

Peter helps clients protect the innovations at the core of their businesses.

An intellectual property attorney, Peter primarily focuses his practice on patent law: he drafts and prosecutes patent applications, assists clients with global patent portfolio management, and performs freedom-to-operate analysis, infringement analysis, and competitive intelligence analysis. He has experience across a wide array of industries and works most often with mechanical and chemical innovations, and he has prosecuted patent applications around the world. Peter thrives on the excitement of supporting new inventions and technologies, and he loves nothing more than seeing a client’s new product reach the market.

Although Peter had long planned on a legal career, he earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and wanted to gain technical experience as an engineer first. He joined a medical device company where his role in new product formulations included every stage, from bench to pilot scale to full manufacturing. Peter’s experience in the field gave him a deeper understanding and appreciation of the amount of time and effort involved in the development of new technologies and the importance of protecting intellectual property, which helped confirme Peter’s interest in IP law. He went on to enroll in law school, where he took as many intellectual property courses as possible.

With a passion for understanding the underlying foundations and policies of patent law and staying up-to-date on the ever-evolving legal landscape, Peter thoroughly enjoys walking clients through the patent process and explaining the intricacies of patent law and policy. He also understands that clients want quick, easily digestible answers, and he excels at providing exactly the concise information they need. Known for his energy and excitement for each new invention, Peter is aware of the effort and resources invested in every new product, as well as how significant these products are for the clients involved—and he approaches each assignment with this in mind.
