Tyler defends clients in asbestos and other toxic tort litigation.
Although Tyler came to his legal career knowing he aimed to work in personal injury litigation, he originally planned to represent plaintiffs. However, after he accepted his first role in a defense firm, he realized how much he enjoyed partnering with sophisticated clients and large corporations. Serving as a legal team leader for multinational, household-name brands confirmed his interest, and Tyler went on to represent a variety of manufacturers, contractors, suppliers, premises owners, and insurers in mass tort cases. While he has experience with traditional product liability work, his primary focus has always been toxic tort, particularly asbestos.
Hoping to grow his career at a firm that was a major player in the asbestos space, Tyler joined Husch Blackwell in 2024. He focuses almost exclusively on asbestos matters for major corporations and conglomerates, handling litigation in some of Illinois’s most difficult jurisdictions for defendants, including St. Clair County, Madison County, and Cook County, as well as Indiana’s Marion County. After nearly a decade in asbestos, Tyler knows most of the plaintiff firms in the area and understands the nuances of working with each of them.
In addition to his ability to collaborate with opposing counsel and negotiate a favorable settlement, Tyler is also known for his confidence as a speaker and in depositions, helping him secure exactly the information a case needs. Clients also appreciate his extensive experience with trial preparation: with cases that often settle on the eve of trial, Tyler is always ready to try a case when necessary.
